Hello and welcome to Halifax Podiatry.

My name is Philip Sneyd BSc (Hons). I studied for my degree in Podiatric Medicine at the University of Huddersfield in Yorkshire, England. I moved to Nova Scotia in 2013 and have been happily practising Podiatry within Comfort Orthotics & Podiatry Clinic in Bedford ever since.  I am a member of The Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine and the Nova Scotia Podiatry Association.

Prior to studying Podiatry I spent many years working in specialist footwear fitting: encountering and helping many clients with foot issues that required special help. It was this work that led me to study and become a Podiatrist.

My early education was in engineering and it is this fascination with all things mechanical that fuels my interests in the biomechanical elements of podiatry; such as gait analysis, musculoskeletal assessment and the appropriate use of orthotics and certain footwear.  Alongside this work, I enjoy a broad scope of podiatry work including skin and nail care, foot health assessment, diabetic wound care and prevention, nail surgery, plantar wart treatments.

Working at Comfort Orthotics & Podiatry Clinic puts me in a unique position as a Podiatrist in Nova Scotia. I work with a fantastic and enthusiastic team of skillful certified Pedorthists and footwear/medical compression fitting staff. The onsite orthotics and footwear modification lab allows me to have quick access to a great deal of resources and be involved in the production of orthotics (and other devices) from start to finish: This, I think gives my patients the best possible service.

I have made strong links and work closely with local family physicians and other care providers to ensure that I can get you the best possible help with problems outside of my scope of practice.
